RSPB

This reserve, one mile south of Lydd and signposted to the right off the Lydd-Dungeness Road, occupies some 2000 acres of the Dungeness peninsula. The peninsula is one of the largest shingle formations of its kind in the world.

Designated as a National Nature Reserve in June 1998, the area is famous for its rich variety of animal and plant life. The RSPB supports one of the most important seabird and wintering wildfowl colonies in the south of England.

The strangely beautiful landscape of Dungesness makes it worth a visit at any time of the year. Take a trip to the RSPB Web site at www.rspb.org.uk
